I would firstly like to thank the events team at The Blythswood. They were our rock during the stress of organising our wedding and they were also there to celebrate when it all went without a hitch.
Our main contact at the Blythswood was michelle, she has to be one of the nicest, most professional person I have ever met. She is the events manager there and anyone looking to have their event or wedding at the Blythswood should definitely speak to her! There was never an end to her generosity of time and effort. She was exceptionally accommodating of me and my wife’s schedule, and on many occasions she would stay late to make sure we could have face-to-face meetings. I really can’t find any fault in her manner or work ethic when it came to our wedding, and I look forward to the chance to host another event at the Blythswood as she made the experience enjoyable.
There were many members of staff involved in our day/night and I would like to take the chance to mention a few of them as they really were exceptional:
David, a doorman/concierge at the time of our arrival, was so helpful and you couldn’t ask more of such a gentleman. He assisted us all the way from the street right up to the room and back again. He also had amazing and funny banter to go along with the exceptional service, which was an added bonus.
Celine, our personal wedding coordinator, she managed and arranged everything on the day. She took charge, she made sure everything was as it should be, every guest was catered to, and our every whim and need met. Celine really did follow the plan to the letter, but added her own personal twist to make it magical and memorable.
Susan, the barkeep of the wedding, serving and putting up with our families as they got increasingly inebriated. She was funny, warm and exceptionally kind, making the day/night so much more fun and enjoyable... I also never had an empty glass thanks to her!
Amy and Danielle, the two massage therapists that made sure me and Irene were fully relaxed and ready for the big day. Without them I am sure I would be too tense to go through with it all!
Speaking of massages, their hydro suite and therapy suites are the best I have ever come across. They are warm, inviting, well decorated, and maintained. If you get the chance, you should visit and get a massage at least; you will not regret the experience.
The hotel itself is world class, and the building is historical but contains all your modern amenities. All the staff are courteous and professional, doing all they can to make your stay enjoyable. The restaurant is modern and elegant, serving a range of dishes that are all sound appetising, and are equally tasty.
Our waiter while we were there was Kyle. He was funny, very knowledgable, made sure we happy at all times. If you ever visit the restaurant you should ask him to make you his signature Hendricks cocktail, it is amazing!
Our room for two nights was the penthouse suite, the best place I have ever stayed in to date, and I have stayed in many amazing hotel suites around the world.
The decor is modern with a personal, decadent touch.
The suite is nearly entirely electronically controlled, everything from lights, curtains and blinds, music system etc are entirely controlled by switches and a supplied tablet.
There is a large tv in the master bathroom that faces onto a very large bath. This bath could easily fit 4 people in it! It bath itself is fitted with LED lights which makes it very appealing and luxurious. The bathroom is also fitted with a shower/wet room/steam room, absolutely fantastic when you want to detox or clean/cleanse yourself.
The suite also has an outdoor area fitted with speakers and tasteful outdoor lights, perfect for any parties you might want to have.
The wedding day/evening portion was perfect, we couldn’t ask for a more beautiful venue. We were able to access the private, well maintained gardens adjacent to the hotel, which made for some exceptionally good photos. The rooms we had for the function were superbly decorated with an artful and traditional facade. It was the perfect setting for our day and we wouldn’t have had it any other place.
The food served was honestly restaurant quality, and not the usual drab affair that is wedding food. The first course comprised of salmon, which was fresh, expertly prepared and plated, and above all else it tasted brilliant! The second course was lamb which again garnered praise from everyone for being tender and well cooked. The desert consisted of a beautifully designed Pana Cotta. It was full of flavour and impressed all our guests, who definitely would have taken seconds.
The team quickly rearranged the room for the evening portion of the night but without causing any hassle or inconvenience. The team made sure that arriving guests signed the guest book which definitely helped as we forgot to ask people!
The evening portion was exceptionally fun. Friends and family dancing, the lights in the room dimmer and the drinks being provided by Susan and the bar team were on point. We opted for additional food to be served later for everyone so they could get a boost. It definitely went down well with everyone. We got pizza, macaroni cheese and fish and chips poke. A good variety of food that I am sure everyone tried but most assuredly enjoyed.
When the night was done, it was time to head back up to that amazing suite and enjoy a soak in the luxury bathtub as my feet were killing me in those kilt shoes you get.
The next day the team helped us load up the car and get everything organised.
It was one of the best days and nights of my life and I won’t ever forget it. Thank you again to everyone at the Blythswood for making it memorable.
I do truly mean it, you and your team made it amazing.

As this wasn't the first wedding for myself or my husband we wanted something intimate and personal as well as elegant and classy. The Blythswood hotel was this for us all the way. From the amazing team they have to the food as well as the setting. Our family and friends along with ourselves had the most amazing day. We have had so many comments from our guests that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. They made our day the most memorable and the setting for photos is just exquisite. We can’t thank Laura and the team enough for everything they did for us.

Thank you so so much for the wedding of our dreams! Everything was just perfect, it feels like such a whirlwind and can’t believe that’s done! When we are back from our honeymoon we will definitely book in. We just want to thank you personally for being so amazing. Honestly, you made everything so easy for us which in return made it the best day! The penthouse on the 2nd night made it, our guests loved popping up for a bit of luxury!
Mr & Mrs P, The Bride & Groom
Our wedding at the Blythswood Square Hotel was truly tremendous. We felt at ease and welcomed into the Blythswood family even before we had officially booked our date. Every detail and idea was listened to and my husband and I loved working alongside Laura and the team to create our extra special and personalised day. The staff whom we worked with were all friendly and kind. Every guest we have spoken to has rated the Blythswood outstanding and has nothing but positive words to share. We feel extremely lucky to have exchanged our vows for life in a especially special place, somewhere we now hold so close to our hearts.
Mr & Mrs McLachlan
Our wedding at Blythswood Square Hotel was nothing short of spectacular, surpassing all of our expectations and more. The staff in particular were first class and nothing was too much trouble to ensure the whole day went perfectly.
So we are very happy with the service, the food and the whole experience. We have had so many compliments from our family and friends about the pre wedding evening, the ceremony, the venue, the food and the accommodation, from those staying. In a nutshell we could not have wished for a better start to our marriage and we will forever remember the role Blythswood Square Hotel played in making our day simply perfect in every way.
Mike & Lorna, The Bride & Groom
As regular visitors to the hotel, whether it be for food, drink or staying over, we have always enjoyed the ambience and experience. When it came to planning our wedding, there was only ever one venue that we considered. We knew that Blythswood Square Hotel would provide a superb experience for not only us but also our guests. What we got was beyond perfect. From the moment we met Michelle in the events team, we felt that we were in safe hands. Michelle's professional and friendly nature put us at ease and we knew that nothing would be a problem.
The welcome from all the front of house staff - Johnny, Sarah, David, Michael and Emma & her team - made all the guests feel welcome. The team in the Salon made the drinks reception feel relaxed, constantly circulating with drinks and canapés.The meal that was served was flawless. Zoltan, the executive chef and his team, produced food of the highest quality. We have been receiving comments constantly about how amazing the meal was. The waiting team in the Monte Carlo suite were first class. The wedding breakfast could not have gone any better thanks to them.
We always knew that our wedding day would be special, but thanks to all the team at Blythswood Square Hotel is was even better than we could have imagined. We cannot recommend the hotel enough. We are already planning our next visit.
Mr D, The Groom
Blythswood Square Hotel made our wedding day magical and unforgettable. We have been visiting this hotel for over 6 years and they have never let us down. From the concierge, reception, chefs, waiters, cleaners and management everyone should be congratulated. The organisation and friendliness of the staff makes your stay so comfortable and stress free.
The chefs were fantastic and the food served on the day was how we expected it to be - of a high standard and very well presented. The waiting staff always had a smile on their face and the bar staff couldn't do enough for you. The rooms were immaculately clean and well serviced, our session at the spa was one of the best we have had.
